Seawater desalination through reverse osmosis Print E-mail
The reverse osmosis is known as an effective, reliable and modern way of obtaining drinking water out of sea water.

This process ensures that the quality of the water conforms to the WHO requirements. Important mineral salts are preserved; bacteria and viruses are filtered away.

Through high pressure, the water is compressed into a pressure vessel, where it flows along a semi-permeable membrane.
Pure water is concentrated in the inner part of the membrane and from there it is led to the fresh water vessel. The remainder of the water goes back to the sea enriched.
