If you install the watermaker on a sailing yacht, which has a more limited power supply than a motor yacht, you have to consider with what you will power the high pressure pump: with 12/24 volts, 220 /230 volts or with a belt drive?

If you have an adequate generator (from ca 5 kW) on board you could use 230 (220) volts systems (AC). ECHO2 Tec. offers devices for smaller generators or inverters (from 1, 5 kW) as well.

12 or 24 volts (DC) Watermakers are very versatile as the batteries can be powered by different sources i.e. by a generator, by solar cells, by a wind generator or by dem Landanschluß.

With a belt drive on the main engine you can produce large amounts of water even on a small yacht, without having a generator or additional batteries.
